The Terminal Theatre

Located along Toronto’s scenic waterfront, within the historic Queen’s Quay Terminal building, The Terminal Theatre was the only purpose-built dance venue of its kind in Toronto.

Queen’s Quay Terminal is an iconic building rich with history. Built in 1926, the building was originally a dry storage shed for general merchandise and cold storage.

Transformed in 1983, Queen’s Quay Terminal was one of Toronto’s first conversions of a former industrial building into an elegant mixed commercial, cultural, residential and retail complex.

Construction of the theatre was part of an agreement whereby the redevelopers of Queen’s Quay Terminal (Olympia & York) and the city agreed to include a custom designed performance space for dance within the multi-use former terminal warehouse.

The Terminal Theatre is located on the third floor of Queen’s Quay Terminal.

The theatre is a unique proscenium-style performance venue with fixed raked seating on two levels (main and balcony).

There are 446 seats, 126 are in the balcony and 320 on the main floor.

Purpose built for dance, the theatre is also used for theatrical performances, music, comedy, readings and presentations.

The theatre has two lobby spaces and a warmup space for use by the performing company.

Washrooms and concessions are available in the theatre lobbies.
