Front Of House Assistant
As a Front Of House Assistant you will be responsible for greeting guests, checking and scanning tickets, and guiding patrons to their seats. You will also assist with venue-related needs, answer questions, and help maintain a safe and orderly environment by ensuring guests comply with rules and know the location of restrooms, concessions, and exits.

The Toronto Stage Company is currently seeking Front Of House Assistants to provide first class customer service to patrons at our new home the Terminal Theatre.
As a Front Of House Assistant you will be responsible for greeting guests, checking and scanning tickets, and guiding patrons to their seats. You will also assist with venue-related needs, answer questions, and help maintain a safe and orderly environment by ensuring guests comply with rules and know the location of restrooms, concessions, and exits.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest services: Greet guests in a friendly manner, answer questions, and provide information about the performance and Terminal Theatre layout.
- Ticket and seating assistance: Check and scan tickets, and escort guests to their assigned seats.
- Venue maintenance: Maintain cleanliness in seating areas, lobbies, and other public spaces.
- Safety and security: Monitor guest behavior, enforce venue policies, and assist with crowd control. You will be key to identifying and reporting potential safety hazards.
- Emergency assistance: Assist guests and management during emergencies.
- Direction and guidance: Guide guests to facilities such as restrooms, concessions, and exits.
- Support other teams: From time to time you may be asked to support other teams within the building including the conces and box office.
Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service: Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with a diverse range of guests.
- Attention to detail: You must be able to pay attention to detail, especially when checking tickets and directing guests.
- Problem-solving: Ability to handle and resolve guest inquiries and complaints efficiently.
- Physical stamina: As an usher you will be on your feet for most of the shift.
- Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Box Office Attendant
As part of the box office team your primary job is to sell tickets and provide excellent customer service for events here at The Terminal Theatre. Key responsibilities include processing sales for tickets and merchandise, handling cash and credit card transactions, and providing information about events, seating, and pricing.

As part of the box office team your primary job is to sell tickets and provide excellent customer service for events here at The Terminal Theatre. Key responsibilities include processing sales for tickets and merchandise, handling cash and credit card transactions, and providing information about events, seating, and pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Ticket sales: Sell tickets and merchandise accurately and efficiently using our ticketing system.
- Customer service: Greet customers, answer questions about events, and provide information on schedules, pricing, and seating.
- Financial transactions: Process cash, credit, and debit transactions, and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Problem resolution: Address customer concerns and process exchanges or refunds according to company policy.
- Information management: Maintain knowledge of upcoming events and provide information to customers.
- Up-selling: Promote similar events or packages to customers to maximize income.
- Administrative duties: Perform other tasks, such as filing, maintaining the box office area, and assisting coworkers.
Skills and Qualifications
- Customer service skills: Ability to interact positively and professionally with customers.
- Cash handling experience: Experience with handling money and balancing a cash drawer.
- Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication to effectively assist customers and coworkers.
- Computer proficiency: Ability to learn and use ticketing software and point-of-sale (POS) systems. Experience with AudienceView Professional is an asset
- Attention to detail: Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Willingness to work as part of a team and assist other staff members.
- Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

As part of the concessions team at the Terminal Theatre you are a service professional responsible for preparing and serving beverages, interacting with customers, and maintaining the concession area and inventory

As part of the concessions team at the Terminal Theatre you are a service professional responsible for preparing and serving beverages, interacting with customers, and maintaining the concession area and inventory
You play a critical role in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring guests have an enjoyable and safe experience.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation and Service: Take drink orders from patrons or wait staff, then serve snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to customer specifications.
Customer Interaction: Greet guests warmly, provide excellent customer service, make menu recommendations, and engage in friendly conversation to foster a positive atmosphere.
Compliance and Safety: Verify identification to ensure customers are of legal drinking age and monitor patrons’ alcohol consumption to prevent over-intoxication. You must adhere to all provincial liquor laws and health and safety regulations.
Bar Maintenance and Operations: Keep the bar, equipment, and serving areas clean and organized during and after shifts. This includes washing glassware, wiping down surfaces, and performing opening and closing duties.
Inventory and Cash Management: Manage bar inventory by restocking supplies, tracking stock levels, and notifying management of low stock. You will also operate Point of Sale (POS) systems, handle cash and credit transactions accurately, and balance receipts at the end of your shift.
Skills and Qualifications
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent ability to listen to orders, explain menu items, and converse effectively with diverse customers and team members.
Multitasking & Time Management: The ability to handle multiple tasks and orders simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while remaining calm and efficient.
Physical Stamina: The ability to stand/walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs or more).
Certifications: Must be SmartServe certified.
Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: The tact and judgment to handle customer complaints, identify intoxicated individuals, and resolve issues professionally.
