Ballet Creole is a Toronto based Afro contemporary dance company and charitable organization dedicated to celebrating African and Caribbean cultural traditions through dance. Founded in 1990 by Trinidadian born dancer, choreographer, drummer, and educator Patrick Parson, the company is recognized as one of Canada’s pioneering professional Afro Caribbean dance institutions.
Grounded in the concept of creolization, Ballet Creole blends traditional African and Caribbean movement, music, and storytelling with contemporary dance practices. Its work honors ancestral knowledge while embracing innovation, creating dynamic performances that reflect the histories, resilience, and lived experiences of the African diaspora.
